There are a thousand PoVs in The Red Knight and I didn't care about half of them half as much as I should like, and I liked less than half of them half as well as they deserved. Mostly, I was confused.

It took The Red Knight book around 60% of its not insignificant length to draw me in, but once it did, it was so worth it. I held on in hopes of epic payoff, and it did deliver that, but unexpectedly, it made me fall in love with the characters as well. (Most of the recurring PoVs, at least.)

Recommended to patient fans of the genre who don't mind not knowing what's going on for quite a while. The battles, armour, the setting altogether was masterfully done. It can be read as a standalone, just actually stop reading when it feels like it should be ending, because from that point the remaining chapter or two are all buildup for the future. And do mind the TWs.
