A nice introduction to Montessori. It especially helped with looking at my 3 year old's willfulness through a more patient lens, and finding a way to respond with better communication (and less yelling).

“Who knew that parenting would become an almost spiritual journey? And what a journey it is."

This parenting book has not only inspired me to make a few changes in my chaotic home but has also made a difference with how I communicate to my toddler and other family members.

The Montessori Toddler is a book on parenting and education starting off with a brief history of Montessori, the difference between Montessori and traditional education, and Montessori principles. Throughout the book you will see a list of activities for different developmental stages, how to set up your home, boosting your toddler's curiosity and creativity, accepting and nurturing your toddler, and other helpful tips.

This is my favorite parenting book. I have been reading it slowly, trying to absorb the information while also putting some of the tips to use. My favorite section in the book is practical life activities. My day to day chores do take longer when I involve my 14 month old daughter, but in the end, I'm less frustrated because she isn't bored and upset; she is happy to help. Plus, it's adorable to watch her rinse off vegetables and place them in a pot; help with the laundry, even if it's one sock she puts into the washing machine; or put a few of her blocks back in the box when she is done playing with them.

I love the principle. Take what you want from it. I only wished it was a more detailed book on activities, organized by age (there is a table for that in the back, but I wanted it to be more obvious).
