So much riding on this book and it did not disappoint!

The more I read of Raphael and Elena the more I love and admire these characters. Elena was a fierce warrior in this. Actually, she has been a fierce warrior in all the books. I love the way she has stayed true to herself and still evolved. She is one of my favorite heroines.

The way Raphael fights to stay a little bit human for Elena, even knowing that is considered a weakness to others, shows a man who loves his woman to the fullest. Out of all the Archangel's he seems to be one who is feared by many and yet he has such compassion for others. It's a deadly combination.

So many characters come out for this book, old and new. So much action took place that will make your head spin. So many nail biting moments. It was epic! There was not a cliffhanger but I also have no idea what to expect next. All I know is that I could read about these characters and never tire of them.

I can’t believe I never wrote anything after the first time I read this! Gah, this story is amaze-balls in so many ways. The Ancients who awaken, the fierce and horrifying battle with Lijuan, the awfulness that Charisemnon and Lijuan did - ugliness so unbelievable - the Legion giving all of themselves to their Aeclari, Michaela, Favashi, Astaad, so injured they’ve gone to Sleep. I just… wow yeah.

Heart thundering as the other archangels stopped firing, the sudden change in pressure causing his ears to pop, he turned to see the new ball of wildfire he’d thrown crash over Lijuan. It spread over her as with the others . . . but this wildfire was different. It had a verdant green heart so brilliant it was the kiss of spring, the lush grass under your feet, the rustle of a tree in full bloom.
That green speared into Lijuan’s mouth, her eyes, leached through to her cells. Leaves erupted over her skin, only to curl up and die. Her hair turned into vines that blackened and fell away. More leaves erupted on her face before being destroyed. But underneath it all, her skin was steadily going green.
“Um, Archangel. Remember when I grew that tree in the lobby?”
He looked for his consort again . . . and saw her. The blaze of energy had faded to reveal an Elena whose clothing was scorched—badly. The black leather had gone a strange greenish silver at the solar plexus, where she’d taken Aegaeon’s rogue blow. It spread out from that point in lighter shades all the way to scorched brown edges at her shoulders and her thighs, curled around her waist. But no skin showed through and what he could see of her body was undamaged. Her eyes were locked on Lijuan.
He followed her gaze. Lijuan was screaming soundlessly as leaves poured out of her mouth. “Life,” Raphael murmured. “Despite all the efforts of the Cascade, all the efforts of immortality, you are raw, defiant life, hbeebti. And she is death.” The two could not exist together in the same being.

LOVEEED IT!!

I know there were mixed reviews and opinions about the last book (which I didn’t read) but I honestly enjoyed it and was eagerly waiting for Archangel’s War and it really delivered. This is the 12th book in the series, seems it just started yesterday….

Archangel’s War starts of where Archangel’s Prophecy left off and ohh boy so much happens in the book. It’s truly an epic proportions of a ride. I cannot wait to see what happens in the guild hunter world next. Nalini Singh really brought her A-game to this book and it makes more excited see what are we gonna have next in store for Elena and Raphael and his seven.

There is a huge story progression that happens in this book, we see quite a bit of the prophecies and other things that have been teased for some while come into play. And more teasing of things to come. As I write this, I’m suffering from a huge book hangover and now going to started rereading the whole series again.

I will also say, its so very interesting how the characters, the immortals who were very complex of course but also remote have come such a long way from when we met them in Angel’s Blood. There was also a very good balance of action, romance and humour and intensity in the book to stop it from being doom gloom.

ALSO ELENA AND RAPHAEL are one of my all time favourite couples, especially after these two books (this is coming from someone who doesn’t like reading series about the same couples so its a pretty big thing for me, I still want more of them). Raphael is still very much an archangel but the way he loves Elena is just amazing and their love is truly swoon worthy especially in these two past instalments. Elena of course I love her and it makes me really happy to see how far she has come from the woman who had friends but was lonely and haunted by her childhood and it’s really nice seeing a kickass heroine getting the love she deserves and seeing her been loved by Raphael and her friends/family. Also I love the legion.

That is all, can’t wait for the next book!! Wonder if [redacted] will be the one to get his book next ?? @_@
