The title of this is pretty on the mark in summarizing this book. Things have come to a head with Lijuan’s gluttonous quest for power as the Angel of death and it is up to all the other archangels including the newly-risen Sleepers to kill her. Unfortunately, she feeds off death and is pretty impossible to kill.

I’m usually not one for extended, overly-detailed fight scenes or war scenes. But I think this author executed a book that was pretty much fight scene and military strategy ad nauseum but did it so well that I was in suspense waiting to learn how things would turn out.

With the way things ended in this book, I wonder where this series is going next.

I’ve been reading these books for years but had to stop at one point because of how repetitive it is. Now I’m trying to finish it out on audiobook and it’s better but still really repetitive and I wish it wasn’t like that cause I do really like the characters.

Very binarist as always. And lots of sanism. If someone’s doing horrible things they are deemed “psychopathic” etc. Also some other  issues I can’t quite name, but nothing that’s unique to this book in the series.
