Decided to do a reread of one of the first manga I ever read. It still hold a lot of nostalgia for me. It's definitely dated in some parts but I still think its worth reading for a older shojo title.

great reread I am on a shugo chara kick now but this was a good as I remembered it being the anime dubed not so much.

This was so unexpectedly good, not that I thought it'd be bad, just possibly overhyped. I thought that the story would feel more cliched, so I was quite surprised by the subtle yet beautiful sentiments of the characters, and the melancholic undertones to everything, like the scene of Eichi comparing Mitsuki to the moon who hides it's scars and pain on the dark side, and puts forth it's captivating shine.
The art is really pretty, and pleasing to the eye. I like all of the outfits and character designs, especially Mitsuki's "idol persona" outfits, they're really fun. I think the characters are pretty distinguished look wise, I haven't had a problem telling anyone apart, which isn't always the case for every manga series.
After that cliffhanger, I'm really anticipating the next volume!!

3.5 stars. I like the MC okay, and the art is fine, but the story seems like it would work better as an anime because of the singing. Although, I watched episode 1 of the anime right after reading this, and wasn't super impressed by it either. Not sure what it is, but this series isn't really clicking with me, so I think I'll move onto something else.

This series is a lot of fun, and left a pretty big impact on me as a kid! It was one of the first manga I ever read, and definitely played a big part in my continued interest in the medium :)
