I surprisingly enjoyed reading this. I was originally not going to continue the series because I saw something about her being kidnapped by him and stuff but then I saw a friends review and they loved Nick, which while I thought he was a weirdo at times, I also kind of got it due to the fact he was military and that would have messed you up as they're the first ones killing civilians to stop the disease spreading etc. in the first book he caught my eye when he left peacefully, I thought hmm is he really bad if he just left. Turns out he's not, just a little messed up.

She was stupid as shit. Seriously Ros, you know nothing of the outside world and you leave him? I seriously wouldn't have cared if I was 'kidnapped' which just saying, she was technically traded, then secured because she assaulted him and called attention to them by screaming when they're in a little tiny cabin. She's stupid. Terribly so. In fact, he's teaching her to climb trees and survive so what's she do? Runs away even though she couldn't survive the training then nearly gets eaten and instantly screams for Nick to help.

So yes, it was a little creepy at times but because I'm weirdly empathetic I couldn't quite register the creep facto at times. When it's his POV because he's thinking so lovingly and actually being thoughtful I couldn't hate on him. When it was her, I couldn't hate what he was doing because she herself was so confused. Maybe it was a lot of anger from being traded too? Unsure.

Liked how it ended, definitely gets funnier with lots of witty lines near the end and I'm just going to read the novella before bed because it's short so why not.

I wish we got the story of Sean or more on whether he survived, maybe a story about quiet Joe, Erin but no, sadly it shall not be. Also, WHY WAS THERE NO DOGS IN THIS STORY. They're clearly 100% useless to the storyline of book one to not be continued in the series at all. Very upset about that. Okay so only a little but whatever.

I was not a fan of this one. I hated Roslyn. The people you were hanging out with just voted to sell you and you want to go back??! Bitch you are surrounded by zombies. You have no clue how to take care of yourself and your "friends" sacrificed you to save themselves. And you have this guy who literally just wants to take care of you. Yes in the real world it's creepy as hell that he has a house packed full of all the things that will make you happy but this isn't the real world. This is a world full of zombies and rapist and you are lucky enough to have a creepy ATTRACTIVE stalker. She was too stupid for me to handle. I actually almost stopped reading this book a million times. It never got better. She was always an idiot. I couldn't deal.

Great new twist to the whole zombie thing. Not only do you have to watch out from getting eaten, you have to stockpile food, but you also have a shortage of women willing to have sex. LOL! So what's a man to do but stockpile food and trade it for a woman. I read the second in the series without the first but I had a hilarious good time. Refreshing book to read since I'm not a fan of the whole zombie movement. Great author and a great story!

I love Roslyn and her inner dialogue, she’s honestly hilarious. Nick is really trying to be the good guy hero and he does end up being that guy but he went about it in such a horrible way. He really had the right intentions and got lucky that things turned out good but goodness did he start out being all caveman. This does eventually tie in with the last book near the end and we get a glimpse at fin, dan, and Ali. I’d love another book and see where they are all at now that things have settled down some for them.

When Nick said “just put us both out of our misery” I felt it deep within my soul because Ros is nothing short of miserable.

Meet Nick, a military man with the patience and forgiveness of a goddamn saint. Enter Rosalyn, an ex librarian who will remind you of that friend who loves to play victim and does nothing to actually change her situation. Put the two of them together and you’ll be grasping at straws trying to explain why the two of them have ‘chemistry’.

Is it enough to say that when the first sex scene had happened I hadn’t even realized how it began? And the aftermath of said sex was just…miserable. I didn’t finish this book, refused to when all the sudden Ros decided they were in a relationship and he needed to bow down to her.

I’ll leave you with this, while Ros claims that Nick is a control freak, the only time she’s happy is when she’s got him under her boot and manipulating him to get what she wants while screaming that she’s a strong independent woman who doesn’t need a man in a zombie apocalypse that she is not prepared to handle.

Save your money and time and read another of a Kylie Scott’s books. I promise they are not this bad.

Another captivating apocalyptic zombie romance, this one was full of angst, fun, and plenty of hot drama and of course a bit of terror.

I think I enjoyed this story more than the first! So much emotional connection between the two characters. Even if Ros did tend to get on my nerves for fighting against her "captor" so much. Kylie Scott has rocked the "zombie-end-of-world-run-for-your-life" genre!
