This book was an experiment for me. I love Wilhelm's science fiction, but I've don't believe I've ever read one of their crime novels. And I can see the clever plotting and the well written story that this is, but I was so. bored. I think that I struggle with the idea of a lawyer playing detective, and half the plot happening as courtroom drama. Which, I guess, it was less a murder mystery than a courtroom drama, and if I'd realised that going in I wouldn't have bothered.

There are so many nasty details that are scattered through this story. And it seemed so needlessly over complicated. But maybe it is exactly what people are after from courtroom drama?

Investigation, suspense, courtroom drama, great characters. Who could ask for more?

The juggled pieces did not fit well for me but I do like how the author uses different situations in each book.

A series of wholly unbelievable events, but still a page turner. I do love courtroom drama.

Really, really boring. The author sucked out any life and potential this book had with very bland writing and poor character development.
