I enjoyed this sweet, humorous romance by the author of When Dimple Met Rishi. The story is told through letters to women film directors. Twinkle goes through many emotions and changes during her filming of Draculass for her schools Midsummer Night Arts Festival. Maddie, her best friend, drove me crazy and Sahil was adorable. Twinkle's voice is true to teens of all races, but her Indian heritage was on full display. This is a quick read and I was hooked from the first page. I liked it even better than When Dimple Met Rishi. Give to fans of Jenny Han and Kasie West.

I. Literally. Love. This. Book. So. Much. Sandhya Menon created yet another beautiful novel about love, the drama of teenage life that comes with change and just a fantastic novel. I also looooved her other book When Dimple Met Rishi which is equally amazing. I literally read this book from beginning to end in a single sitting: it was just too good to put down. Her writing is amazing and I love how she addresses true issues in society today. Everyone needs to read this book. And if you had, wouldn’t it be cool if she wrote a similar novel to her other two that was about two teens falling in love through writing or something written? Maybe that would be a good book idea for her...

I loooved Menon’s first book, so I was pretty disappointed with this one. There were too many “tricks” in the writing (like writing everything in letter form to female directors, lots of accidental overhearing to move the plot forward, etc.).

Twinkle , With Love came in my owl crate.
When I first read the description I was unsure weather I would like it. As soon as I cracked this book open I could not put it down , but sadly I had to because of work .

I felt like I really connect with Twinkle when I was that age. There were times in this book where I did get mad at her for how she was acting but in the long run I understood it to. But I also feel that a good writer can make you love a character be annoyed at their flaws and still understand and love them.

I really love they way the story was told it and it was really well done.

This was a cute, quick read and I'm glad I read it during the summer. I've never read Sandhya Menon before. I will say her writing style is a little different.

The reason I am giving 4 and not 5 stars is because Twinkle actually drove me nuts. Like the amount of times that she mentioned her "groundling" status drove me crazy. I felt like there were times in the story that could have been cut out because she was literally just repeating something that she had already said like 700 times elsewhere.

The book was also a little predictable and I may be so harsh because I haven't read a contemporary book in literal ages so I'm not used to the lovey dovey scene. I'm happy with the end, I did cry a lil bit I will say. I did enjoy the story line and the change up from the typical "I wanna be an actress/model/singer" to "I wanna be a movie director." This book is all about self discovery at a young age and I wish it would have been around when I was in high school.

hi, meet twinkle. dumbest dumb dumb to ever live. she made me WANT TO SKIP the romance parts of the book.

oh yeah, i'm waiting for neil, the guy who doesn't know my name, but is also my secret admirer, which is why i can't date, sahil, who i actually like? thought process is non-existent. oh and brij nath? don't worry about him, he's just in utter shock, literally frothing at the mouth, every time he talks to me because he has a crush on my ex-BEST FRIEND, who i still hang out with regularly, not me.

and am i a dumb dumb too, or did we ever find out who n is?

it just made me so angry, especially the way she absolutely shamed all the popular girls for being popular? hannah was being mean and so was maddie, and i hated the way we moved past maddie just ditching her so fast because don't tell me it had nothing to do with her popularity, but she would just be like "yeah, they just never ever talk to me" like no duh, you don't talk to them. it just makes me so mad, the weird stigmas around being popular we put on especially girls in school. especially because msot of the time they don't exist in real life, and mean girls aren't always equal to popular girls. anyway.
