Definitely a good one! I'm glad I already have Cole's latest because otherwise I'd be ordering it right now.

Ragdoll is a detective series following Detective William Fawkes known as The Wolf and Detective Emily Baxter, they first arrive at a crime scene to see parts of six different victims bodies sewn together to look like a puppet.
I loved the crime scene, it was original, gory and creepy. Daniel Cole written it well and throughout his writing flowed really well.
To begin with I loved the two detectives, especially Baxter with her quick wit and strong personality. But that love started to die down over half way through the story, Wolf began to get boring and Baxter got needy and irritating. I didn’t actually mind how Baxter acted near the end of the book but it bothered me how unlike her it seemed, she’s a strong woman that lets nothing bother her and all of a sudden she was drunk and vulnerable. I get everyone has their weaknesses but it was too sudden for my liking.
The story itself died down near the end too, it got dragged out too long for me and the actual ending to the story really disappointed me, it was very anticlimactic and boring ☹️
I’ve said it many times and I’ll keep saying it... Chris Carter has given me REALLY high standards when it comes to thrillers, I wasn’t surprised that I didn’t like this book as much as I like Carter’s books but I did expect to like this a lot more.
I am still interested in carrying on with the series I’m just hoping the books get stronger.

I don't read many thrillers/murder mysteries, so I'm not the best person to say if any of them are good or not. What I can look at is how much I enjoyed reading the story, and seeing how fast I read this one I think my 4 star rating is deserved.
I picked this up on a whim, not wanting to read two fantasy books at the same time, but wanting to have something to read on my kindle before going to bed. Only to then fully ignore my physical book that I was reading during the day and fly through this one, needing to know what would happen next. Loved it!

I had seen Ragdoll on social media in recent weeks and immediately added it to my watch list, and I am so glad I did because it is absolutely brilliant!
I love gory and gruesome in books, and I make no apologies for that, so to open with a body made up of different peoples body parts definitely grabbed my attention! So much so that I devoured Ragdoll in less than 24 hours, I just couldn’t put it down.
When I was raving about it to my husband, he said it sounds like it could be a movie or a tv show, and that’s exactly where Ragdoll’s background is. Daniel Cole has effortlessly transformed his writing into a gripping, twisted game of cat and mouse between the pages.
The characters are all really well written too. I am super excited to read more about Wolf because he is by far the most interesting and beautifully flawed Detective that I have encountered in a long time. And don’t even get me started on the Ragdoll Killer because that is one twisted antagonist, in the best possible way.
I don’t want to give too much away about the story, but it went in directions that I just wasn’t expecting. I found myself questioning everyone’s motives and I’m pretty sure I got it wrong every time!
To say I enjoyed Ragdoll would be an understatement! It consumed me while I read it. Definitely one of the best crime books I’ve read in quite some time, with an excellent premise and some darkly humorous moments I cannot recommend it highly enough! One to watch for certain!

Wow what a debut!!!! Absolutely gripping from beginning to end. All characters are deep and complex and completely believable. Loved loved it.
