Wanted things to be wrapped up a little neater, and it felt like there was a bit of a narrative thread that got convoluted about two thirds through. But still a really fun and educational read, especially as someone who has never enjoyed philosophy.

The ideas are interesting, but the footnotes are far too distracting. Though they are used as a device, there are far too many of them in the midst of the thought-provoking content.

It's very neat that Michael Schur took what he learned from studying philosophy to write "The Good Place" and turned into a book. It shows that he really delved into the subject and thought about it deeply. "How to Be Perfect" is a great introduction into the philosophical ideas about being a good person. It was interesting, and I learned a lot of new information. It's written with humor and reads quickly. I recommend it for fans of Schur's writing or those looking for an easily accessible introduction to these ideas.

i am forever changed. i found my personal morals and am now deciding where my moral line is. i also have moral exhaustion. i loved how he framed this book and how funny the audiobook was. i love it when i walk away from a book with a new outlook on life and this book did that for me.

one of those books I believe has primed me to be a person in the world, which is more praise than any critical evaluation of its presentation of ideas, though its ideas are very helpful and clarified many dilemmas I often face. very much a book that feels tailored to someone like me
