A collection of the articles published by The Digital Antiquarian that all focus on the year 1992. These pieces look at what was happening in the world of interactive entertainment at that time, with a particular focus on adventure and RPG computer games.

I chose the 1992 collection largely because this was a special year for me and my own interest in gaming. I had been gaming on the family PC for several years by this point, but in 1992 I started buying issues of PC Format magazine (or more accurately, my parents would buy it for me). I started becoming interested in the world of games journalism and news, and what "professionals" thought of games being released rather than just my school friends.

The articles contained here are in depth and detailed, but most importantly they are extremely well written. Despite their length, they all remain easy to read and have a conversational tone. They are also extremely well researched. The 9-chapter run on Microsoft Windows was maybe a bit much to take, but it's probably the most engaged I've ever been when reading about business dealings.

Perhaps I could say that these writings have too narrow a focus and I would like to see some discussion of other game genres or even other game platforms, but what I was rewarded with was wonderful depth. Despite my horror at seeing the article on Star Trek games open with a declaration that the author only cares about The Original Series!
