Really enjoyed this, read it in one sitting. Lucy and Alex definitely had chemistry and the slowburn was fun. The magic wish was to cause the story to happen and the characters themselves don't understand it so magic isn't a main feature. The supernatural element isn't very fleshed out, but that wasn't a problem for me.

Lucy's cousin Ursula and fiancé Lincoln are hateable in this book and Lucy is a saint for how calmly she takes their bs. I enjoyed Alex's family and Lucy's sisters (Sirena and Callie). I know the second book is focused on Ursula but I'm not interested in her at all and I'd much rather read about Sirena or Callie so I'll be skipping that one.

This is such a cozy fall read! We get to experience a magical small town in NJ where a witch and a merman get a 2nd chance to take a chance lol

I definitely read this in one sitting and cannot wait to read more in this series!

This is a great witchy childhood friends to lovers! Lucy and Alex were really sweet! I really rooted for them to find their way back to each other after so many years. Besides the whole merman and witch thing, their relationship felt very real.
The only thing I didn’t really like about this book was the drama with Ursula. I really could have used less of her. Besides that, I really enjoyed this book!
