A very romantic story about a wife who left her widowed husband a list of women to consider marrying after she had been gone a year. The story alternates with his voice and the voice of the three women, two of whom have struggling relationships as well.

I'm going with 2.5 stars because it's better than meh, but it starts out kind of awful. Not the letter. The letter is what'll likely keep you going. No, it's all the "my dead wife" mentions. And we're not talking about his many mentions of Hannah. Nope, it's the actual 'dead wife' stuff that's just... the start of the book is rocky at best. I didn't actually find all that much to really like about Micheal at all and I get that he's grieving and not anywhere near his best. But we so rarely got to see him be this charming pediatrician who is marvelous with children- we're just told that he is. I was far more interested in the ladies of Hannah's list, even though it's obvious from the start who Michael is meant to be with and the book pretty much never wavers from that.

This is the story of a woman that dies leaving a list of three women she thinks would be a good match for her husband. That may sound a bit creepy, but the way it is presented, doesn't make it weird at all.
Hannah's List was a selection for my book club, this was also my first time reading a book by Debbie Macomber. This book wasn't really 'meaty' enough for a book club discussion, we ended up talking about a lot of other things. Actually, that happens every month, regardless of the book, but it happened much sooner with this book. So, I wouldn't really recommend it for your book club. But, if you're looking for an cute, enjoyable story that will draw you in from the start, consider this book. I'd say this would be a perfect vacation book.

I’ve read all of the other books in this series and found them to be light, quick reads. Perfect, since I’m in the midst of moving. I have to say that this is my least favorite book of this series, by far. Honestly, I think I would’ve been happier having read a book about the other two women, as opposed to the main love interests. To be honest, I just had a big issue with the main premise of the book. It never really sat right with me. The other issue is that I was inwardly cringing (very) early on when I realized who Michael was going to ultimately choose. I didn’t buy that pairing at all!
I didn’t really care for or believe Michael’s attraction to Macy and her zillion cats. She annoyed me.  I much preferred Winter and Leanne’s characters.
There was also a bit of repetitions and story seemed longer than necessary.

Michael and Hannah found love that would have lasted a lifetime had Hannah lived. One the 1st anniversary of her death, she gave him a letter encouraging him to live and find love again along with the name of three suitable candidates. I have no idea what I would do if I found myself in a similar situation. What I can tell you is that I knew how things would turn out by the 2nd chapter. I was right and enjoyed the ride to get there. Do I think it was the best match? No, not really but I'm looking at it from an outsider's perspective and am sure X is exactly what the good doctor needed in his life.

What a sweet book. Hannah has been dead for a year when the book starts and she has sent a letter via her brother to her husband that she wrote before she died. She wants her husband to find a new wife and even gives him a list of three names. His clumsy attempts at restarting a romance with someone else are humorously heartbreaking.
