Exceptional - as always - just enough fear delivered through caustic wit and piercing observation.

David Suchet reading M. R. James great combo. I’m not really sure how this qualifies as a Christmas ghost story, but nice and spooky. Don’t listen to it in a bedroom.

Dr Parkins doesn't believe in ghosts. He is a man of biology. He goes on a trip to improve his golf skills and finds a bronze whistle under a templar area which he takes back with him. After cleaning off the whistle and finding inscriptions on the bronze he blows on the whistle and somehow it summons something that should have been summoned. The story and writing gives a very gothic atmosphere which any lover of the English ghost tales would absolutely cherish.

Sheet ghost for the win! BBC made a good short film of this too. Really scary.

A little spooky short story. Enjoyed it for what it was. :)

This was a bit of a mess, tonally, but I enjoyed myself.

The story itself is entertaining but I'm recommending this audiobook so highly because of its narrator. Really, really well done!
