Hate to see this story end. But boy oh boy what a way to end it. It'll keep you going with wanting more. Love conquers all if you just have faith.

I remember being a new blogger and being presented with the chance to read Storm Siren. I was hesitant at first, I wasn't all so familiar with the publisher or the author and I was shocked that two months into blogging someone was asking us to review a book. Reading this series was on of the best bookish decisions I made. Honestly, this series will always be one of my favorite for a variety of reasons, and I am sad it is all over.

I don't want this review to be a big gush about how much I loved this book, but I feel like it is going to be. I have literal tears in my eyes as I write this review because I love this book. If this isn't series dedication I don't know what is. I have all the books so far, and ARC's of the first two books, and I am hunting down swag and the third ARC like mad.

I always talk about character growth in my reviews, and the change that all the characters went through from point A to point B is incredible. Nym started out as a slave girl who had no clue to how to control her power to someone who controlled her power and was willing to lay her life down for her people in selflessness. Eogan survived being invaded by Draewulf, and nearly dying multiple times (*growls at my book babe being hurt*) It was incredible.

I don't believe in spoiler reviews, so talking about Siren's Song is going to be difficult. But I am going to try my hardest.

At the end of Siren's Fury, Nym saves Eogan from Draewulf's hold. Which was a major plus because I love Eogan. So I figured that the romance in this book would explode. Like seriously, I been teased for two books. Third ones a charm. But nope. Eogan wants to protect Nym, Nym wants to kiss Eogan (after he almost dies for the umpteenth time) so there is tension going on. That I loved and hated it at the same time. So if you are expecting tons of romance like I was, you are going to be a little disappointed. But I love when the romance isn't the only focus. So much crazy stuff happens in this book (and by crazy I mean multiple heart attacks, I couldn't breathe kind of crazy.)

This book is packed with action. So if you like action this book/series is for you.

Overall I loved this book and entire series. I recommend it to everyone, and everyone who's I've known so far who has read it adored it as much as I do. I am going to forgive Weber for the multiple heart attacks and the emotional plain with cliffhangers because she has another series coming out that will probably bring me as much pain. But if I could give this book more then five stars, it would be getting it.

Gah, these books were so good! Admittedly I wasn't sure how high the body count would be. It was one of the best in the series and had me gritting my teeth until the end. The story was compelling and introduced a lot of new aspects to the world, including lore, mythology, and character backstories. The author still had some secrets that needed to be revealed to us, and it was great to watch Nym grow into her final character arc. The fights were nail-biting and often unpredictable, Nym definitely brought the fight to her enemies. I honestly didn't know how it was going to turn out, and I couldn't read it fast enough. I fell completely in love with this series and the characters in it and am going to miss them all (even Haven!). I absolutely recommend the STORM SIREN trilogy to all YA fantasy lovers, because it has everything you want and more. Do not miss out on it!

I absolutely adored the first two books in this series, so I was eager to dive into this final installment. Unfortunately, I have to confess that my experience reading this one was marred a bit by the simple fact that I couldn’t remember enough of what had happened in the first two books and I therefore struggled with connecting to the story – both the high stakes and the secondary characters. Still, by the end, I was absolutely in love again. This is the type of series that I think I’d like to read again someday (and I never reread!) all at once so that I can experience it properly!

What Fed My Addiction:

Nym and Eogan.
The connection between Nym and Eogan has always been one of my favorite aspects of the series. I’m a romantic at heart, and these two are the ultimate example of a couple who has had to overcome incredible obstacles in order to be together. Even when I was struggling to remember plot details from the first two books, I always remembered the intense connection between Nym and Eogan and they were the glue that held this third book together for me.

An epic conclusion!
The final twenty percent of this book was so incredibly stupendous and glorious that it made up for any lack of connection I was feeling earlier in the book. It overwhelmed me with so many intense emotions that I had to read it out loud to fully experience it all and force myself not to rush through it. Reading it out loud was sometimes difficult because there was some weeping involved, but I managed. Obviously, I can’t tell you what happened in the final showdown in this book, but I can tell you that it was both epically spectacular and hauntingly beautiful.

What Left Me Wanting More:

I forgot too much!
Like I mentioned at the top of this review, the only thing that kept me from absolutely adoring this book is that I had forgotten too much of what happened in the first two books! I was hoping the Recaptains might help, but alas, there were no recaps for this series. I didn’t have time for a reread, so unfortunately, I spent the first twenty-five percent of the book trying to remember what the heck was happening. Luckily, Weber wove in some really good reminders, but there was still something missing for me – even once I remembered a good portion of the main plot, I didn’t remember the connections between the characters (besides Eogan and Nym) and I struggled with constantly feeling like, “Oh, yeah, I’m supposed to kind of hate this Myles character, but all I really remember about him is that he talks with a hiss. And I’m supposed to love Princess Rasha. Wait, who’s she, again?” I never did really get around to really loving or hating anyone but Eogan and Nym (both of whom I loved) because I just couldn’t scrounge up any feelings for them at all – I’d forgotten them too thoroughly! This really wasn’t Weber’s fault at all – her writing was brilliant and she did weave in clues, but unfortunately, whether it was her fault or not, it stifled my enjoyment of the book. Luckily, the ending was so masterful that she made me lay aside all of my qualms by the time I put the book down.

SO, if you haven’t started this series yet, this is perfect timing – you should pick all three books up and be prepared to binge read this series in all its gloriousness! If you’ve already read the first two books (or just the first), I recommend at least a quick skim read of the previous books to refresh your memory – I wish I had done that so that I could have avoided the distraction of my poor poor memory. I had a hard time rating this book. I really think it deserves a better rating based on the quality of the writing and the story. But because I had a hard time connecting to the first half of the book, I really wasn’t enjoying it – and I don’t feel like I can completely ignore that in my rating. Because of that, I landed at 3.5/5 stars.

First, I have something to confess. I never read the second book in this trilogy and I had not cared overly much for the first book. I received this book as complete surprise for review from the Fiction Guild.

I liked this book better than the first one. The feel is not quite as dark and there seems to be less sexual innuendo, though still some. Nym has grown into a capable leader and has learned to stop self-harming, acknowledging that cutting herself doesn't fix anything. I also really liked Kel's character and snorted out-loud when Nym mentally addressed one of the other characters as Sir Doesn't Matter. The ending was one that I both liked and hated: liked because it kept me wondering, hated because it used a point of view other than Nym's... and it kept me wondering.

Overall though, I couldn't get attached to this story. I really didn't like most of the secondary characters and Eogan was about to get on my last nerve up until three fourths of the way through because he refused to talk to Nym about his problems. I also spent a lot of time wondering why characters held off on sharing information until the last minute.

I see where others enjoy the story. Nym is a strong heroine, one who doesn't think that being strong means hating everyone, and the fight scenes are very well done. But while I liked this book better than the first, I don't feel the need to go back and read the second.

What an ending! Things started happening fast and I had to hang on for the ride. And what a fun ride it was! It was so good to see Nym and Eogan together and happy (of sorts), but seriously you two. Would it kill you to just communicate?! The way they still withheld secrets from one another really frustrated me. Sadly it was those moments that the insta-love that was involved in their romance kind of reared its head for me. Nevertheless, once they finally started talking, I warmed up to them again. Once again, Ms. Weber threw all sorts of twists I wasn't prepared for! I am amazed at how she had so many things going on, all the epic battle scenes, and yet was able to keep me from getting confused. I loved that Nym got some closure for her past! That made me so, so happy. I surprised myself with how happy I was that a certain character turned out to a good guy as well! I hadn't liked him in book one at all, but he started growing on me very slowly and I ended up glad that he made the choices he did. (Plus I now wish there would be a spinoff story, even if only a novella, about he and a certain someone else! I can dream, can't I? :) This is a wonderful ending to the series, with enough closure to make me happy, yet enough open-endedness to let me imagine where they go in the future. Which is just as I like it!

Thanks to Netgalley and Thomas Nelson for giving me this book to review.

With Tulla under siege from Draewulf’s army, Nym, Eogan and a handful of others rush to warn Cashlin’s queen, only to discover that it may be too late to for this eerie kingdom. With the Luminescents searching through Nym’s past, the queen is looking into her future and Nym is given 3 choices to defeat Draewulf, but none of them are guaranteed and the costs might be great. Nym is raising an army of peasants but will this along with her elemental powers be enough to stop Draewulf and his dark plans?

Siren’s Song is the enjoyable concluding book in the Storm Siren trilogy. It is action-packed, romantic and fast paced but I did not feel like it was as good as the first novel. As I had not read the first two books in a while I found it hard to remember what was happening and who everyone is.

Nym is resilient, stubborn and is determined to stop Draewulf, but she is also compassionate, selfless and wants to protect people. Eogan is brave and is still affected by being possessed by Draewulf, however, I did get annoyed at him keeping things to himself and not talking to Nym. I also like Kel as he was sweet and cute and behaved just like most 7 year olds in that situation would do.

This is a good ending to the series and I look forward to reading more books from Mary Weber. I would recommend Siren’s Song to fans of the first two novels in this series.
