The format is set up with a mix of recordings from the podcast, monologues from Elle and flashbacks from TCK's childhood. The alternating POV's and timelines really worked to keep me interested and I wanted to begin a deep dive googling this imaginary killer.
At times I did find myself rolling my eyes at the characterisation of one or two of the characters, some moments were a little far-fetched and at times Elle can be a frustrating person to support but overall I was invested to find out the truth.
I switched between both the book and the audiobook and really found the audiobook brought the true crime podcast aspect to life.
Dark and thrilling, sure to to be of interest to true crime podcast fans.
