This didn’t really seem to have a point but I liked it.
The first third of the book was engaging, enraging, and entertaining but the rest seemed to jaunt along with no point
Well.
I shouldn’t say that.
It felt like I was reading some deep piece of literature that AP high schoolers study and you have to dissect to truly appreciate or understand.
Unfortunately, I’m just not into stories I have to dissect to appreciate.
And I’m absolutely in the minority here but I wasn’t the biggest fan of Tom Hanks on the audiobook. His voice acting choices were a little too similar for me. At times I struggled to differentiate between which character was speaking. I love his acting but I think I’ve been too spoiled by amazing audiobook readers to appreciate his audiobook reading.

Pretty good story about a brother and sister and how they chose to live their life when they were "exiled from their home". This is less a story about the house, and more a story about a family - using the house as an anchor point. I listened to the audiobook version, narrated by Tom Hanks. I don't know if I would have liked it as much if I had read it in my own voice.

I’m a fan of Ann Patchett...and this book doesn’t disappoint. Great writing and storytelling.
