Great book. Wish the dialogue of the black characters weren't so blatantly stereotypical. It sounded like they wanted the black characters to sound like they were from the 70's and 80's. There was an overuse of slang language to sound "hip" and "relevant" and to make sure the readers knew the characters were black. As if all black people speak like that. It was off putting.
Graphic: Gun violence, Racial slurs, Racism, Toxic relationship, and Violence
Moderate: Cursing, Hate crime, Panic attacks/disorders, Violence, Police brutality, Mass/school shootings, Stalking, Abandonment, Alcohol, and Classism
Minor: Adult/minor relationship, Bullying, Blood, and Fire/Fire injury

While the storyline of this book isn't particularly standout to me, what does stand out is the fact that it was co-written by two different authors. I've never read a multi POV book where the characters voices felt so different.
Moderate: Gun violence, Racism, Toxic relationship, Violence, Police brutality, Stalking, and Sexual harassment
