There's something about Erin Cole's writing that immediately transports you into the world she's creating. There are lush descriptions, and well drawn characters, but it's even down to the word choices and phrasing that demand the reader let themselves follow the flow of the book. Once on the ride, it becomes clear that the story we are to be told is a good one.

Our main characters are a werewolf with an identity crisis, and a mysterious stranger that has problems of his own. Together they make for a pairing that is never out of trouble for long.

There are some nice light touches throughout, such as the "way with dogs" that werewolves are wont to have, and Jamie herself is likeable enough.

If there's anything that could be recommended to improve this novella, it would be to wish it were a little longer, as the book's final act seems a bit rushed.

All in all a worthwhile read!
