This was a very good example of a dark romance, and it made some use of the names and characters from the source (Peter Pan), but it deviated too much from the original for my taste.  Steamy romance and very well written, met all my expectations for the genre. While there are plenty of dark elements, the book overall uses those for atmosphere more than plot or character. I definitely applaud the author for including those dark elements without using them gratuitously.

First and foremost, if you're going to read this book, I beg you, PLEASE, read trigger warnings. I shouldn't have to remind you since, if you're reading this review, you probably already know this book deals with dark topics.

Anyways, most of the smut was hot, especially Hook's voice actor, but it did get a bit awkward at times. Maybe I've been reading too much fanfiction. Who knows. The plot was amazing, the tense parts actually made me feel tense, and the plot twist actually surprised me. I'm going to continue reading this series, Emily McIntire proved herself to be worth my time.

if I wanted to see a raging misogynistic edgelord talk about how women are beneath him only for him to somehow win the girl with mediocre sex and weird pet names, I'd read fucking Andrew Tate fanfiction, and I reckon I'd still somehow enjoy that more than this book.

I'm sorry but if this is their idea of good smut/relationships, then I am so sorry for straight women.
