This book just wasn't for me.

I found the magic system complicated to follow, I noticed the plot took a back seat towards the latter half, I felt like the author wanted to remind us the struggles the MC faces but had trouble integrating it with the plot. I found the dialogue sometimes childish but that makes sense because of the characters ages, it just annoyed me. Probably would've like this when I was younger.

Is nice to see stories told from other cultures and I think that's great.

| Favorite Quote | “¿Me dejas robarte un beso?” he said softly, in the most agonizingly beautiful Colombian accent Yadriel had ever heard. Pg. 274

| My Review | My god, this book is wonderful. Heartwarming, suspenseful, and bitter-sweet! I fell in love with Julian along with Yadriel. The way he describes Julian’s soul, I CRIED! I want to give them a big warm hug, such sweet babies. Please read, it brings back faith in love and humanity! It will leave you happy and warm, I promise~

"Cemetery Boys" by Aiden Thomas is one of my favorite books of the last couple of years.  I would absolutely die for the MCs.  Basically, this is what happens when Yadriel, a trans teenage hereditary brujo looking for his cousin instead raises the ghost of a gay classmate with ADHD who mostly wants to reconnect with his friends.  So many wonderful layers of chosen family, blood family, and complicated relationships.  It has probably the best line of any queer book ever: "Hay niñas con pene, niños con vulva y transfóbicos sin dientes."  (Trans: There are girls with penises, boys with vulvas, and transphobics without teeth.)  It's aimed for YA, but great for everyone.
