Friends since the first day of high school, Joni, Eden, Trina and Deb have been together through a lot. Brought together on a short holiday Joni suggests that they each write an anonymous letter in which they reveal their secrets and then read them within the group. One friend writes a letter and then decides to re-write it and tone down the contents. At the end of the break that letter is discovered and the friendship starts to fall apart.

It sounds like a good premise for a novel and would have been if only handled better. I found the story irritating and the protagonists deeply unlikable individuals - it was hard to believe that they were supposed to be friends. At its heart this is feels like a very formulaic novel designed to appeal to a certain readership (not me) and will probably be very successful.

Finished in less than two days on a busy schedule. Nicola Moriarty is every bit as good as her sister, and I can't wait to read more by her.

This was a light-hearted, fun, easy read. It did touch on some heavier topics but didn't ever get too deep. I finished it in one evening. Nice and enjoyable.

idk, the stakes were pretty low and i'm so tired of the only childless character having some tragic backstory instead of just not wanting kids.

Such a fun read, much similar to stories by her sister Liane. I loved it. All 4 characters are completely relatable in some way and I loved that. I was able to guess who wrote the fifth letter though, but that's okay because I still loved the story.

Quite enjoyed this story about 4 girls who have been best friends since high school. They all go on holiday together and write anonymous letters spilling secrets the others don't know. Obviously this opens up numerous cans of worms.

I would like to thank Netgalley for giving me access to the arc in exchange for an honest review.

I didn’t really know what to expect when I started this book, what made me request this book was the description it sounded good but then I still didn’t know what to expect exactly. I enjoyed this story more than I thought I would.

It was such an interesting concept and at first, I was really unsure about the way it was told but I got into it fast. The way Joni told the story to the priest in confession was something I very much learned to like it and even some of the humour that came from the priest was good. It was nice to have some light moments especially when the content of the story was so heavy.

The story was very interesting concept in that they all write a letter anonymously about their deepest and darkest secrets it was so interesting and some of these letters were pretty twisted and they go into some deep topics I don’t want to say as spoilers, but some of the stuff included in the letter are sometimes unspoken topics especially including women. It was so nice seeing woman differently represented in terms of jobs, home life and children they were all different and it was nice to see it represented that way.

This novel is also the perfect example of what happens when you leave school and try to keep in touch with your friends sometimes it’s just not possible because different life paths, and this novel shows it so well. Also how they can keep trying to meet up with each other in their busy lives. The friendship between them all is strained though and that does get shown in the novel as well as it feels like some of them are left out and yet they all feel left out at the same time. It shows that you really can keep secrets from the people you love.

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would, I don’t have much opinion on the characters they were okay, I just really enjoyed this for the plot at times the characters did get annoying.
