Mediocre. Lost interest half way through the novel. Good plot and a pleasant twist at the end... if you can make it that far. I'm not even too enthusiastic about writing a review about it because I didn't enjoy. I wanted to have good experience from the novel but it just wasn't there, it was way too slow and had so much "filler" in my opinion. Wouldn't recommend it, but it wasn't awful. 2.5 stars and I rounded up just because the plot itself was good but the actual experience of reading it was a bore.

I read this book quite quickly because it was pretty engrossing. I was leaning more towards a 3 star review until I reached the last quarter of the book. The twist at the end is truly shocking and I didn’t expect it at all. I liked seeing the new side of Jane at the end, I think it was really unsettling but thrilling. A great thriller story about how your perfect neighbors aren’t as put together as they seem!

The Girl Next Door - Phoebe Morgan ⭐⭐⭐⭐

📚 I recommend this if you love a gripping and suspenseful thriller

This book was gifted to me by a friend, I'd never heard of the author but thoroughly enjoyed it!! Ideal if you're looking for a quick read that's well written.

It has 3 POVS: Clare, a teenager who has been murdered, Jane who lives next door to Clare, and the police investigator.

I did have my suspicions on who the murderer could be but I kept an open mind with how the plot developed. Definitely gave off unreliable narrator vibes and had some twists towards the end!

Genre: mystery
Number of Pages: 320
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Publisher: HQ
Series or Standalone: standalone
Tropes & Themes: unreliable narrator, secrets, lies, police investigation, police procedural, plot twist

I read the staves of this books. It is an amazing tale of drama, excitement and suspender. Without giving the story away, there are so many unexpected twists and turns that you don't know who is telling the truth! Enjoy
