(Audiobook)
I’ve never read a book translated from one language to another. In that sense, some parts, the way things were worded or explained was a little rough. Overall, this book was really good. I did like the character perspective of all the main characters. I also love the twist at the end. Very good revenge book!

gonna go for a 3.75/4 stars - really enjoyed this thriller-esque psychological deep dive surrounding the murder of a four year old girl. the novel ended up very different to what i expected, but these differences ultimately weren’t bad things as i really enjoyed uncovering what occurred and it’s ramifications through varying perspectives. minato’s writing is very concise in the sense that nothing is mentioned that isn’t significant later, or at least is then explored within another perspective. i let out an audible gasp and a maniacal giggle reading the end of the first chapter - things within the story were predictable but not necessarily in a bad way. also this is the second piece of japanese lit i’ve read this year and they have both been psychological explorations of conceited pre-pubescent boys who feel favourably towards murder ,, promise i’ll branch out more and this is just a coincidence lol.

This was probably one of the most unique thrillers I’ve ever read! I couldn’t stop reading because I wanted to know what was going to happen. There are constant twists right up until the very end. The writing style took a while to get used to but I ended up enjoying how it was written in the end.
