It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Detached all the way through, like the dragon himself in the beginning of the story. Matiu is an Ass-hole (that's capital A), ignoring his lover for three hundred years and only showing up when jealous. No amount of good deed in the end managed to redeem him.
