I got this on audible when they are running a free promotion for some childrens books, and I realised I've never read Alice in wonderland completely! Loved that the audible book is read by Jodie Cromer, with such excellent voices for the different characters! I really enjoyed Alice in Wonderland, is a colourful and imaginative story as you would expect of a children's book, and you can see why it has been so popular for adaptations. The story carries with it the joy of childhood and that is as much as I read into the story, although I am sure there are other messages there about kindness and authority etc etc. Was a very quick read (listen) on a lazy weekend of lockdown!

It was alright.
The writing was clear and concise, there's a dream like feeling to the world, but the book doesn't have much of an impact or punch to it. I like the weird whimsy it has, and the charming characters, and the way it feels like a dream. (Which makes sense due to the end) I enjoyed it, and it was a lovely read. But well, it wasn't anything fantastic. I liked it, but it was just.. an easy read? I guess? But, I love the edition I have, my friend gave it to me for my birthday, and the illustrations are so charming! This book would be the perfect bed time story for a child, and I think kids would enjoy it very much.
