I was not expecting to like this as much as I did! I really loved this book so much and I especially loved how it didn't automatically throw you into a smutty story. There is tension and there is build-up between the characters and it was ugh *chefs kiss*.

It was ok. The writing was annoying - choppy sentences that would have been better if combined was my primary issue. Some dialogue or descriptions didn't make any sense together side by side due to the choppiness and adhd level writing. Not the worst I've read but, elementary for sure. Got too cliche and cheesey and lost it's interesting aspects pretty quickly with the insta-love. Contrary to popular smut (that is poorly written) trends ... you don't have to name the anatomy every time. Also the word "crotch", much like the other C-word, is really not a sexy word. Come on.

It wasn’t super interesting from the get go, but I tried to stick with it. FMC is pretty tough and independent, which was a nice change from the usual damsel in distress. A little bit of a slow burn, but I didn’t feel the usual anxiety or anticipation from it.

Spice: 3/5 it was good when it finally happened but again, I just didn’t feel the spark between them.
