This manga is an oldie, and I only read the first volume, but it didn't disappoint. I assume it would be another Romeo x Juliet retelling, as we've seen so many of those in media, but this manga was surprisingly not like that. Instead, it was a shoujo, gender bender with the main characters starring in a school play, which is coincidentally Romeo & Juliet.

The story follows Jto (FML), who has a masculine appearance and is trying to appear more feminine. She ends up meeting the new student Makoto (ML), who is crossdressing as a girl (for personal reasons), and Jto agrees to keep his secret.

Overall the first volume is something I really enjoyed as it takes a different approach to gender, with Makoto presenting as more feminine but confident in his masculinity. In contrast, Jto is more masculine presenting and is trying her best to keep in touch with her femininity. So far, Jto has only ever been able to do that with Makoto, and the relationship is very wholesome! I can't wait to read more!

I didn't like this. Not too surprising because I generally dislike shoujo from this time period, but I also hate stories about crossdressing. It's played to death and not interesting at all. I felt no romantic connection between the main characters at all, and I found it extremely weird that they kissed but then never said they liked each other or started dating? Something very toxic and 90s about that.

This was a cute romance. The transvestite twist and it’s immersion in their drama club gives it an interesting difference from most r/c manga. The artwork was beautiful without being overly detailed, an uncommon asset in manga.
My only problem is how one dimensional the rivals are. They are there only to serve the plot and have no human complexities.

Det här var den första mangan jag läste, så väldigt kul att gå tillbaka till den. Kanske inget wow men mysig läsning i alla fall.

This book is really good and it does have a good plot. The only thing is that the story is a little rushed because it was meant to be a one-shot but it is really good

I found that this manga lasted longer than other ones I have read. Not that it was slow but there was more story and things developing than other books do and I really enjoyed that.
