The storyline was good but a bit convoluted and dragged out.

I definitely liked the way that this book really kept you hooked via the plot line. As soon as I began, I wanted to finish to know what happened to the girls. I also really liked how the author kept dropping these weird little clues so that you knew that Cass wasn't telling us something. It was fun to speculate what I thought those clues would add up to in the end, and I went through a lot of different theories.

The one thing I really didn't like was the personal side of the story of the FBI psychologist. I don't think it really added anything to the story.

This was a very convoluted thriller. I never could figure out what was happening. Which is great if you love surprise twists! My only complaint is that I kept getting lost and had to reread some pages.

ONE OF MY FAVOURITE THRILLERS EVER.

The most insane narcissist mother, two missing sisters, island captivity, and more lies than you know what to do with. This was so complex and multi-faceted and made me audibly gasp at multiple points.

Finally some good fucking foooooood! This was impeccable.

This is one of my best surprises of the year. It read like a lifetime movie - so full of drama! But that meant I couldn't put it down. And figure it out? Ha! Not even close. I love a good mystery and this was one of the most enjoyable I have read in a very long time.

Original and well-written. Not only suspenseful but an accurate portrayal of the narcissistic personality.
