Love story

I liked this book. Even though not much happens it was a span of a cute love story. About 2 imperfect people who were perfect for each other.

I am not a romance reader and the small portion of this book I got through was enough to make me realize this just wasn’t for me.

There were a few inconsistencies in this book, and that's why I gave it 4/5 stars.

However, Yara is life. I believe all of us are Yara in one way or another, and I love that Tarryn can bring that to us.

I can't put into words the way this book touched my soul, so I'll just leave you with a strong urging to pick it up, and read it for yourself

What is this I am feeling?

This has been a breath of life joyously stabbed into my lungs and heart.
Tarryn has slayed me, has slayed my sine cold heart, thawed it and made it beat.
Her eloquence, her detail, her wit, her psychology of characters, her prose, the savior of love, it's everything.
That's all I will say for now.
And maybe a "Yas queen!"

So many thoughts...I don't know where to start.

Tarryn has a way with words that can make mundane, everyday tasks sound like life altering decisions. She is able to put into words feelings that were otherwise indescribable. She can make you feel all the feels, feels you didn't even know were there. Her words are beautiful.

As far as this story goes...it is not my favorite. I found Yara hard to connect with. She's very flighty, so wrapped up in herself that even when she's done things to hurt others, she still finds a way to make herself the victim. I get that there are reasons behind this, but still. There was a lot of psychoanalysis in this one, and it made for a slow story. I think the ending, though abrupt, was perfect.

Second time reading and I still fall in love with Yara, David, and their story

The cover and title of this book are five stars, all the way. I want this book to display on my bookshelves. One of the best covers I’ve seen in years. Ok, enough about the cover. I really enjoyed the story. It was predictable and messy and beautiful and stark. Read it. You can definitely judge this book by its cover.
