A Hellion at the Highland Court, by Celeste Barclay. Well now, I am surprisingly pleased with this novel. I was so much intrigued that I read through the night. Wow. Laurel and Brodie are the dynamic duo couple in historical romance novel.
I found the book easy to read, although there were some wordings that could have been replaced with simple ones. I still did have some idea of what was happening in the scene. This does not in include the Scottish Brogue or Galiec. I loved, loved that the writer stayed true to the reality of the times and the culture. This leads to me finding the book very realistic.
In every sense of the word this book was realistic. I enjoyed the entertainment and believe me Laurel and Brodie brought a lot of entertainment to the romance part of the book. There are some characters who bring some witty moments to the story and there are some that you hope gets their but kicked. There are a number of scenes that has action that I loved. These scenes moved the story along which made the story for me all the more intriguing.
The writer did a great job of keeping me focused on the story, however there are some scenes I think that were a bit drawn out when it didn’t need to be. There are only a few of these scenes, but this didn’t detour me from finishing the book. The suspense, mystery and crime had me hooked to the end. The passion and romance that Laurel and Brodie share is hot and oh so very steamy. I don’t think that they came up for any air!
I recommend this book. Until next time my fellow readers... read on! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I really loved Brodie and Laurel together. I also loved that there were so many characters that I could love and hate throughout the book. I was not expecting the twist but I thought it was great! The epilogue was also super sweet.
