Not sure what to say about this book.. It's not like it's written badly, but this is just a huge disappointment after the high expectations set by Book Thief. Meh.

I liked it but it wasnt that interesting. Nothing really happened. It was like it was just the beginning of the book. Well it was the beginning of the series but still. I liked the relationship between Kameron and his brother. Overall, I liked it and will probably read the rest of the series.

Well it’s no Book Thief.

Also, very unfair treatment of mushrooms throughout.

So I'm marking this as a book read, since it's the one Markus Zusak I've never read, even though in this new book it is just the first part. Make sense? Oh, well if it doesn't. Anyway, this is the book that introduces us to Cameron and Ruben Wolfe, who go on to have more adventures in the other two books. I can tell this was his first book... let's just say he got better, much MUCH better! While I enjoyed the book and these crazy boys, there really wasn't much story to it. Just Cameron moping about a girl he likes and not really having the guts to do anything about it, and also he is worried about his family and the stresses they are facing.
