I had problems with this book, but I enjoyed the last few chapters and I will continue reading the next book.

The description of the world building and journey this overall book takes was a nice read. Attina (how old is she) there were moments I thought hs then adult but never sure. I am usually down for dual POV but like it somewhat back and forth.

I really enjoyed this book. If you like Cruel Prince, you'll like this. I quite like the main character, but I cannot stand James. He's so needy and controlling. If Allistor can stop calling people 'kitten' then he will become a lot more attractive.
However, some lines were kind of cringy and I did get second hand embarrassment (mainly when the horses spoke).

If you’re an ACOTAR fan, you’ll love this book!

The characters are extremely well written! Attina is a relatable main character! Allister was introduced towards the end, and his character has already gripped me. I can’t wait to see his role in the next book.

About half way through the book, the plot thickened and I couldn’t put the book down! The first half of the book really let me get to know the world and Attina. The world-building was well done- it didn’t feel like it was piled onto me!

There were quite a few typos, but that’s not unusual and not a big deal to me.

Overall, a great read that left me needing to read the next one!

I loved the character development of Attina, especially the fact that she struggles. It makes her more real. And James was great...until he wasn't! His character was confusing and made me so mad at the end! I can't wait to see what Allistair chooses to do. He's a wild card right now but he's intriguing for sure.

Attina and her father venture out on one last father-daughter trip before leading their people to Sanctuary, but everything goes wrong. She learns that she's half-fae, about her mother, and the history of her and her father's horses. Learning to fight and become a warrior in a short time is grueling, but with her Awakening close at hand, it must be done.

After a trip back to the town, things become even worse and Attina and her father are forced to separate. Now on her own with Raven, a fae horse she's never had a great relationship with, Attina is put in more danger.

A mystery fae follows her as she makes her way to Sanctuary, but is he the danger she expects? There may be something worse waiting for her in Sanctuary, but she will need to learn more before deciding.

Not knowing who to trust and relying on Raven as her only ally, Attina must figure out how to approach her current situation, but more importantly how to survive it.

Join Attina on her life-changing journey in She Awakens, Caitlin Denman's debut novel!

A really easy fantasy read - I like the characters I think the world was well developed. For me a couple of bits seem to just happen a bit quick - Attina took on two of the kings best and lived to tell the tale after minimal training. Overall an enjoyable read and I’m intrigued to see where we go next!

This series debut is a stellar one, and Attina is a heroine we want to get behind. When she finds out that her human life is only half of her truth, Attina must face these changes head-on. Mastering magic, dealing with fae, and a handsome male lead to keep us on our toes! It's so good!

This was a great start to a new series and I now have a new insta-buy author.
