I actually really enjoyed this I think the world is really cool and the way the characters are written there's actually alot of depth to them and I ended up liking alot of them. I will say the pacing was kinda weird and confusing in some bits but it was still good.

Stopping because Persephone is happy that Hades is paternalistic and sexist, punishing someone because they scared her and sheā€™s a woman. Thereā€™s also some ableist language in a way thatā€™s not important to the narrative, and Persephone keeps thinking of some non-human people as ā€œcreaturesā€ and ā€œmonstersā€ in a way that feels disparaging. I donā€™t like this version of Persephone and I donā€™t like how the story is being told.

A very cliche plot line with such fantasy romance tropes as ā€œancient being pursues inexplicably alluring 20-something-year-oldā€ but made up for by the excellent tension building and chemistry. Also slightly less creepy than usual when you consider both main characters are immortal gods and one is just younger.

This book was fun for a quick read. Iā€™ll probably read the follow up books. Itā€™s not amazing, but engaging enough. The sex scenes do get a bit repetitive and the pacing goes a bit too quick at times.

I donā€™t love traditional Greek mythology as I always find it dry and boring to read. I bought this book based on the cover, as I am wont to do with my book selections, and didnā€™t know it was a Hades & Persephone retelling. When I started reading, I wasnā€™t sure if I would finish (I never DNF). This book is so engaging, however, that after the third chapter I was hooked. The characters are delightful even at their worst. The world created in the novel is fantastic and beautiful. The love story is sweet and sexy, if a bit predictable. The sex scenes are a bit repetitive but still have some elements of spice that are delectable. I canā€™t wait to buy the rest of the books in this series.Ā
