I thought this was a great mix of Greek mythology and modern fiction, but at times it did get predictable and cringe. If you read Percy Jackson as a kid and now like ACOTAR… I would recommend!

This was a very easy adult read that I got through extremely quickly. Many (many many) spicy scenes and lusty comments/thoughts. There wasn’t a lot of plot or backstory in this book, and Persephone annoyed me with how deliberately she distrusted Hades even when he answered her questions. And her jealousy towards Minthe was ridiculous and very contrived. This book was a fun time, but not a well-written time (though it wasn’t poorly written, it was just average). Bumped up to a 4 because I couldn’t wait to read the next book and absolutely devoured this one. I did really enjoy the world of this book- a modern day Greece with gods/goddesses being the famous people of the world.

slow start but heated right up to sizzling. I wasn't sure I'd like it in the beginning but quickly became hooked and couldn't put it down

I loved this book  and use of Greek gods in the modern world. The only thing that bothered me was how much miscommunication was used as a plot device and sometimes I just wanted to shake Persephone and tell her to use her words.

The world-building was done beautifully and I felt fully immersed in 'New Athens.' While it's mainly a romance novel, I think there is something to be said about the friendships in the book, about women supporting women and protecting and inspiring each other. If you're a girl's girl and like some spice to your books, this is a great book for you.

I was really conflicted about what to give this book. I decided on a 3.75 because even though there were parts of the story that really annoyed me I still really enjoyed the book itself. Persephone really irked me a lot of the book. She would seem to understand something about Hades one moment and then go and question it the next. The story was also somewhat jumpy and disjointed sometimes. Even with those things it was still a fun read and I'm interested to see it from his point of view next.
