i actually really enjoyed this structure and it was a nice change up, i just think that the descriptions weren’t as clear as they needed to be for this kind of format. sometimes it was hard to set the scene because not enough detail was added

[a:Stephen Graham Jones|96300|Stephen Graham Jones|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1631159041p2/96300.jpg], you're my new favorite author!
I found this book quite disorienting at first, with the screenplay format, choppy camera cuts here, and there, but later on you got caught on in something so special. I couldn't put this book down as it piqued my curiosity, loved the characters as well. I just wish things were described more clearly so I can fully enjoy it. Regardless of that, the main character reminds me of Jade so much, missed her and I really can't wait for the Lake Witch sequel

I genuinely wanted to like this book. I think it has a great premise and I love me some meta fiction so it really seemed like it should be up my alley. While I will say that there was some stuff that I appreciated as someone who loves slashers, I found the writing style was something I couldn't get into. It was initially confusing and when I did get used to it, I found it made it difficult to connect to the characters. Overall, good idea and some interesting way of presenting it but this book is very sadly not for me.

I was really intrigued by the premise of The Last Final Girl. I appreciate the fact that this was written in script format, and that definitely made it a little more fun to read. However, I ended up being very confused by this writing style, and I don’t think I understood any of the plot points. I’m a huge horror fan, and I still didn’t understand a good portion of the references, so that also made me enjoy the story less. The main characters were all unlikable, and even when people began getting killed off I couldn’t bring myself to care. I’m looking forward to read more of this author’s works, I think this one just didn’t work for me!

Took me a minute to get used to the format of the book, reads like a movie script. Some excellent one-liners and references to slasher films. I've read books before where the authors just don't get how high schoolers act...this was spot on. Funny, bloody and gory
