I liked it. My gf did not like it and I can see where she is coming from. It's not a slow burn enemies to lovers type of story. What's missing is the slight craving for each other. Although the world around the main characters is amazing and it includes a map and I love books that have maps.

As I said above, the characters can do with a little more craving for each other. I'd liked them to notice it a bit more like a forbidden proof.

Though Benjy added absolutely nothing to the story besides a possible boy interest for Ayla which I hated. In the second book he literally just fades away in the plot and I completely forget about him. I think the author did a brilliant job with Kinok making him someone that is supposed to be hated.
