This was so good. Fast paced. I only gave it 4 stars because sometimes the wording confused me and the book doesnā€™t have chapters which threw me off at first but I got use to it.

Maybe Stephen King just isn't for me. This my 2nd book from him and at least Misery picked up. This book was just awful to me. I didn't like the way it was written. The characters were pretty dense. I don't think the storyline was well told. It just seemed pretty surface level. And just not what I expected it to be. And the subtle racism and fat phobic (maybe it was written like that because of the time period) I found unnecessary.Ā

Idk if Iā€™ll ever be able to give a King book 5 stars because of the amount of slurs he uses unnecessary. That aside Iā€™m very worried about people who say that this is a ā€œgood for herā€ book. Itā€™s a tragedy and I feel sympathy for Carrie but
killing all of your classmates for revenge is definitely school shooter energy, please get help.
other than that itā€™s a pretty normal Stephen King book. The way Margaret and Misery were written were almost exactly the same. And he really cannot write convincing dialogue for women. But at the end of the day heā€™s able to pull you in and tell a good story so what can I say.

Stephen really delivered in his first ever novel.

Sissy Spacek's narration absolutely blew my mind.
