I contemplated rating this slightly lower because the characters annoyed me a bit more in this instalment of the series. Johnny and Shannon acted a bit too immature compared to the previous book - it was very cringeworthy at times watching them pretend to be adults while sneaking around like kids. And the bickering between Lizzie and Gibsie was tiresome (although I suspect it was building towards the plot in future books).

HOWEVER! I was so addicted to this read. This series is the fastest I’ve flown through 1000+ pages in a long time. I’ll definitely be checking out the next books at some point! I loved the way Chloe Walsh wrote the slow burn, touch her and die, obsessive love. I was kicking my feet, full on giddy for so much of this.

Also the last third was action packed and much more exciting. Definitely read content warnings before picking up this series though!
