Since the two of these books were so similar (this along with Amazing and Extraordinary Facts: Kings and Queens by Malcolm Day), I decided to write one review on both of them.
These were both enjoyable, fun reads, with a lot of interesting points and things I could go away with to annoy other people with pretty useless information. Ah, my favourite thing to do! I enjoyed Great Britain a lot more though. There was more information to read from, more obscure facts, more amusing anecdotes. Kings and Queens did drag slightly and yet seemed to skim over a lot of monarchs – the most recent for instances. Whereas Great Britain always seemed to spring something unknown upon me, Kings and Queens most of the time sprouted facts to be about monarchs that I had already learnt during school.
I thought they were both really interesting, fun reads. They took no time at all to read and so quickly fed my enthusiasm for British History!
