First Thought when I Finished: Bodyguard by Jennifer Ashley is going down as one of my top 5 favorite "novellas" of all time.

Quick Thoughts: I usually don't like novellas (too short, not enough story, to quick to fall in love) but this one packed one heck of a punch! Great Story! Great Characters! Love that didn't feel rushed! I now want a bear shifter!

I love how caring Ronan is. I loved all the kids in his home. Especially Olaf. Just adorable. I had a bit of trouble with Mabel. She was supposed to be around 20, but acted a lot younger than that.

Bodyguard is a part of the Shifters Unbound series and is best read after Primal Bonds. I just absolutely loved getting to reenter this amazing world. I just always have so much fun reading these stories. I just loved getting to see some familiar characters as well as meeting some new one’s you just can’t help but fall in love with. I was so disappointed when I turned the last page. I can’t wait to see what’s next for this series.

If you are looking for intense romance with a lot of action, this is not the book for you. However, if you are looking for a light read, then this book may be what you are looking for. It is a short story, that gives you insight into the world that JA has created.

Bears. There is just something about them in a shifter story. Gotta love them.

Loved it, loved it, loved it! Now I'm even more determinded to read the actual novels. This short little noveld is something you shouldn't miss out on. It's got lots of love, caring and actual bitching it in, as well as a fight for the things you hold dear. May that be a future you crafted for yourself, or the one person, that helps you chase away the loneliness you feel even in a crowd or family.

This was good and better than average for a novella. I like how she uses as much of her shifter community as she can. It make for a nice backdrop. I enjoyed it and I'm sure I'll read them all.

I love discovering a new series... I started with the point 5 novellas but they're enough to whet my appetite for a different Shifter myth. Off to download the other full novels featuring Liam and Sean.

Elizabeth, has worked very hard to make a fresh start, and with her store finally doing well, then one evening someone bursts into her store and attempts to rob her, and then a big kodiak bear saves the day....when Ronan saves Elizabeth from being killed, he ends up being blamed for attacking a human, and only with Elizabeth's testimony does he get free, and he desires to protect her from those who would seek revenge. Elizabeth at first doesn't want to believe in the danger that threatens both herself and her sister, but when she starts to realize who is really involved in getting revenge, she starts to realize that how much she needs Ronan and his protective nature, and sooner than she would ever think she starts to fall in love with the most adorable bear in the county, who despite being a shifter bear, is so tender and loving but she doesn't know if she can trust Ronan or her heart...but she doesn't dare mess up the best thing that has ever happened to her...Bodyguard is a e book between the second and third in the series, and its Ronan's story, and those of you who have read this series, just fall in love with Ronan and I would love to find my own 'Ronan'. Bodyguard was such an endearing story and only .99 cents on Kindle, so I was thrilled when it wasn't a short story, but novel size, and I couldn't put it down I was so enthralled by the story. I have noticed that with Jennifer Ashley I think to myself am I really going to like this one, but I am always surprised by how good it is, how much I fall in love with the stories and the characters, and the same is true with Bodyguard. Its probably my favorite book so far in the series, of course the other two are not far behind, I think the one thing that I loved the most, is the romance in this story, so beautifully written and I also enjoyed the conflict, it wasn't the kind the would send your heart racing, yet it wasn't like it wasn't enough of conflict, I found it balanced the story really well and I definitely just loved every aspect....a fun and exciting, and it seemed to be a perfect addition to the best series Ashley has come up with yet....

Elizabeth owns a small novelty gift store, one evening while she is robbed she is saved by Ronan who is a Kodiak Bear shifter. Her attacker is arrested, but so is Ronan. Ronan gets off and her attackers makes bail. Unfortunately he is the brother of a local gang leader.

Ronan decides Elizabeth and her sister are safer in shifter town, with him as a bodyguard. Ronan makes a mate claim on her to keep her safe from her past as she has only been Elizabeth for the past six years.

Unfortunately the kid who robs her finds out about her past and gets in touch with her ex, Zach, who she ran away. A fight is set up for Ronan to try and save Elizabeth, but he is set up to fight a feral. If he hadn't been shopping in her store, he wouldn't be fighting to the death to keep her alive.

A quick and easy read.
