Three of the four have been made into movies, but don’t let that stop you even if you have seen them. Exceptional writing by an exceptional author.

This isn't something I would normally read, but it was required reading for a college literature class. I have to say that the writing is excellent, and except for some language and certain things that were described in the story, I really enjoyed it.

I've attempted to write a review of this book (or what I call a review, at least) half a dozen times but each time, I find myself unable to put into words exactly what I thought of this book.
It is rich and complicated, thick with thought provoking ideas and stories. This is only the second Stephen King book I have read, but has become an immediate favourite, while also cementing itself as a book I will probably never read again.
The stand out for me is Apt Pupil. At the start of the book, I too found myself fascinated by the grim details being revealed by Dussander and then, almost in line with Todd himself, I found my sleep disturbed and my focus far away. King masterfully lures you into the world and then dials up the terror and disturbing thoughts to the point that I was rushing through the story so it could be over.
The Breathing Method was also a favourite, its confusing but intriguing layered story had me hooked throughout.
