It appears that Nicole has did some research on the time periods when she wrote this book. She brought forth information that help the reader understand things that happen during that time period. Also, the dialect was on point with the characters. There are a couple of action fight scenes that provided some quick pace to the book. This was good and helped the book. The romance was a slow rise, but I didn’t get the passion the seduction between the two characters. I voluntary reviewed this ARC after receiving a free gifted copy.

There are times when I feel the need to get my hands on a good Historical Romance, and I have a handful of names of authors that are my 'go-to' authors when it comes to this genre. Nicole Locke is one of them.

In this novel we follow Cressida and Eldric, in a journey full of romance, action, drama and amazing moments that made me want to jump in to the book and truly get together with the characters and be their friend.

With a strong female MC and an intriguing male MC, with the interesting circumstances that pulled them together, and with every obstacle and tension... No wonder I was the captive of Nicole Locke's brilliant descriptions. Her storytelling, the way the characters pop and seem real, plus the way that time period seem to pull us in, is one of the reasons I loved the story.

I could say a lot about this novel. How it the characters weren't just powerful and strong-headed, but also vulnerable. How the story was dynamic and I felt as if I was there. How it grabbed my attention thanks to all the little details that made this book real.

In the end, it doesn't really matter, because I don't want to spoil the fun, and I just have to say this: If you like Historical Romances, you need to read this one. Nicole Locke just keeps surprising me with the characters she creates and the scenes she puts them and us (the readers) in.

Overall, I love the book, if that wasn't clear enough. I do want to read other books of Nicole Locke and keep exploring the fantastic world of Nicole's imagination.

[I want to thank Rachel, at Rachel’s Random Resources, and Nicole Locke for the eCopy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.]

Nicole Locke has done it again with intriguing characters, lots of action, adventure and of course, drama. Nicole manages to weave a tale that is sure to thrill from beginning to end.

When Eldric of Hawskmoor finally catches The Archer, he is stunned to find out she is in fact a stunning woman. How could this woman be The Archer he loathed for so long? Now he just has to take her to the King for judgment and he can finally move on with his life.

I thought this story was very well told. There is enough action, adventure and suspense throughout the story to keep the reader entertained until the last page. It's very fast-paced and entertaining. The main characters felt like a great fit, they had a great balance of differences and similarities to make them mesh well. The backstories of the characters were worked in nicely to the story so that it didn't feel like an info-dump but rather a steady flow.

Overall, it was an enjoyable read. I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys historical romance.

Cressida Howe had spent much time over the years observing Eldric of Hawksmoor. She'd even danced with him at Swaffham, not that he would know, due to her darkening her light blonde hair. So when she's captured by him, it reveals her true identity... she is the Archer and he is the man she desires.

Under orders from King Edward to find the Archer, Eldric's tasked to bring the wanted man to London. So, when he captures the one who murdered his friends, he's shocked to find out his prisoner is a woman, dressed like a man... only she seems familiar…the same one who holds his heart?

Set in 1297, the protagonists are well-matched, both strong-willed and loyal to their causes… until they both realise they've met before. However, each has a responsibility which conflicts with their attraction to each other. So, when it becomes clear, Cressida's father, Richard Howe has taken the young daughter of Eldric's acquaintances, the two have a common cause to rescue the child, although trust is a hard-fought battle between them.

I liked Cressida's bravado but the scenes with her father showed a disturbing vulnerability in her character. Eldric is a giant of a man but isn't afraid to show his compassionate side.

The romance is woven around an engrossing plot, full of intrigue which comes to a satisfying ending. Captured By Her Enemy Knight, definitely caught my attention because I've not read many historical novels set in Medieval England and France. The author is new to me too, so I'll be looking out for more Nicole Locke books to add to my TBR list.
