(In full disclosure, I have to say I haven't ever reviewed or even rated one of my own books, and I feel slightly weird doing so, however I'm basing my review on the stories within the book (excluding my own, which of course I do love) so it feels less weird ;))

I loved the four other stories in this book. I loved that they were all so different. And you'd think maybe it would be jarring, going from 1980's Hawaii to 1760's England (to take the first two for example), but it was so easy for me to transition smoothly from story to story. They almost flowed seamlessly, or maybe I'm just good at switching focus (ha) because it wasn't jarring at all. I took each one as they came, and immersed myself within them, enjoying how the theme of second chances ranged within each story.

In We'll Always Have Oahu, I felt like I was there. There was a kind of nostalgia (hello, 1980s) with the wonderful fashion and music that was peppered throughout. I enjoyed Kassidy's journey towards adulthood and romance, and I really liked Alijha too. I could picture him so clearly. It was a fun read with themes like independence, friendship, and trust, and was a great New Adult read.

The Pearl was so authentic I felt really proud of my friend, Ms. Bianca. I've read a lot of historical romances, and she holds her own and then some. The language, manners, everything transported me completely. I loved how she interpreted "second chance" to involve not exactly a relationship having a second chance, but a person. I can so see the story continuing and I hope she does write more about Marcus and Sophy!

The Eyes of the Heart was entirely different from the first two, and yet again, I loved the descriptions. Rosalina's frustrations were vivid, and I loved that she learned to trust someone and let herself be weak. The painting scene really touched my heart and the twist at the end was one I did not see coming.

Finally, Mr. Midnight was another very different story, and I really enjoyed the musical asides from the DJ at the beginning of several sections. Beth and Bryan's story was one that seemed destined to line up and I was so glad when the stars aligned (or the musical notes?). The story made me think of my own life and how music is so entwined in my memories.

The book was a quick read-- I read it in an afternoon, and very entertaining. I'm proud to be included in this book. I hope readers will find something to love within each story (I know I did).
