so.... i’m a huge fan of the show and hoped this book would give us new and cute content, but it didn’t. it was almost word for word the show, and it completely skipped some moments (including my favorite!).
i didn’t want to rate it so low because maybe i’m not the younger target it was written for, but i think that it’s not even a good novelization. i don’t think someone who hasn’t watched the show would even understand the book.
too bad!

Back in January, I knew this show thanks to withcindy's review on this novelization. And I completely agree with her review after reading this. So you guys can check her channel out. Me ranting in my mother tongue will be better.

Thứ nhất là, mình biết đây chỉ là bản novelization kể lại phim, nên phần lớn chi tiết đều đã biết, nhất là khi mình đã xem phim này độ 4 lần. Tuy nhiên, tác giả đã không thêm thắt được gì nhiều cho câu chuyện. Những chi tiết mà hơi khác xíu so với phim cũng rất ít, không đáng để mình cho lên 3 sao.

Thứ 2, không những vậy, rất nhiều cảnh không hề có cảm xúc như trên phim. Điều này thực sự đáng thất vọng. Ví dụ như cảnh của Alex và Willie ở ngoài rạp Orpheum lần cuối, hay là cảnh cái ôm đầu tiên của Julie và Luke... Cuốn sách này dựa trên kịch bản ban đầu của phim, thành ra thực sự đáng tiếc đã không có được những chi tiết hay như vậy. Thiếu đi chemistry của các diễn viên, hay cả soundtrack của phim nữa, quyển sách này thực sự không có gì.

Thứ 3, nhiều cảnh đã bị lướt qua quá nhanh, không đọng lại cảm xúc. Tức :)) Có một số câu trích dẫn bổ sung khá được, nhưng cũng không thể nào cứu vớt cả quyển.

...thực sự, rất nhiều fanfiction viết hay hơn quyển này.

Nói tóm lại, mình sẽ rút kinh nghiệm và không đọc những bản novelization của phim yêu thích nữa. It only brings disappointment. Lúc đầu mình định để 3 sao, nhưng sau khi đọc chương cuối và cảnh Julie và Luke bị lướt qua như vậy...2 sao vậy :)

I don't know why I haven't picked this book up sooner! It was so good and definitely something I needed. I loved the series so much, and reading the different scenes from different perspectives made everything more fun.

Every time when there was a part of a song mentioned, I started singing it. Now I really want to rewatch the show (for the fourth time).
