I thought the author did well at showing how a single paid sexual encounter by the main character with a young man in a foreign city turned the main character's low-key life upside down. The mix of longing and desire coupled with control issues made for an interesting premise for this novella. It left me wanting more yet still felt complete. Nice descriptions of Bulgaria years after Communist rule.
