It's a real shame that the female detective MC has literally no good ideas at all, it seems like her only function is to act as a hindrance to the oh-so-brilliant male MC and to be sexually desirable to the male characters. Otherwise a great book.

A pretty decent thriller with a really fucked up storyline. I think this book was a little too long for what it is.

Excellent Nordic noir - dark, tense and disturbing with a pair of angsty yet appealing detectives. The Chestnut Man is a creepy adversary (who would probably outmaneuver The Whisper Man.)

I’ll start with this, thrillers are usually my go-to genre. I know a lot of people loved this book but I found it very disappointing. The plot line, the detectives chemistry, the fact I figured out the killer almost immediately is the typical murder mystery thriller. Nothing original about the writing. Nothing I haven’t read many times before. I wish I DNF but I did and I’m left annoyed. I’m glad so many people loved this book, I just wasn’t one of them
