4 Stars (rating seems busted Goodreads) I didn't think I would like this in first few pages. I almost stopped reading, but I am glad persisted. The story was charming.

I’m sad. I wanted to love this book, but it just wasn’t for me. I think I may be in the minority, so I’ll definitely try another book by the author. But as far as Beauty and the Beast romance retellings go, this one wasn’t my favorite.
P.S. I did not care for the narrator of the audiobook at all. Mary Sarah is not the narrator for me.

I love books with great and conscious disability rep, and specially when it’s not only the women! Alexander is scarred and bound to a wheelchair after having suffered through an accident 10 years prior in a fire that took his parents, though he can walk with a cane with excruciating pain and only for short periods of time.
This historical romance was wonderful. With touches of Beauty and the Beast and Phantom of the Opera, it was genuinely everything I would’ve expected from it and more.
The plot was so creative! I loved their ruse, and their time together and chemistry were incredible.
Fans of Bringing down the Duke will highly enjoy it!

I've read 2 of Stacy Reid's books now and I'm obsessed! She does a phenomenal job of developing characters that you feel invested in.
In this particular book, she truly develops the relationship with the perfect balance of awkwardness, romance, heat, and conflict.

This was a great start to a series about Wallflowers who are tired of depending on men for their future and make plans to be "wicked".
Kitty Danvers is such a courageous woman! I couldn't resist reading about how she fake engages herself to a reclusive duke.
Definite Beauty & the Beast vibes but Alexander was no beast. God, that man was so lonely! I loved how he handled the situation.
I loved them together! Such a delightfully done story! Can't wait to read about the others!

Was not expecting this to be as beautifully written as it was. THIS is how you do a Beauty and the Beast Regency Retelling

Somebody please recommend me a book like Never Seduce a Scot, because I am looking for one by myself and not finding anything that comes remotely close. This was fine! This was not a bad book by any means. But I am still finding myself so terribly BORED. A Beauty and the Beast retelling? A disabled protagonist who is not ashamed of that fact? Recipes for success in my book! And yet, it all just feel too flat in the end. Maybe this just wasn't the right book by this author for me, which was the exact same problem I ran into with Maya Banks. I'm hoping against hope I can find something more stirring in my future.

I loved this book so much! Alexander truly deserves every ounce of love Katherine was willing to give him! I hated the way he viewed himself and how Katherine wanted to love him wholeheartedly without any complications, their love genuinely had me tearing up more than once whilst reading this.
