For me, this one was a little harder to understand when compared to “A Christmas Carol.” A New Years novel to ring in 2021 ✨🔔

Bah, humbug!
People, meet Mr. Ebenezer Scrooge..

[b:A Christmas Carol|5327|A Christmas Carol|Charles Dickens|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1396055652s/5327.jpg|3097440] is my shortest read for [a:Charles Dickens|239579|Charles Dickens|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1387078070p2/239579.jpg] (so far). As far as old folks can go, Scrooge is the grumpiest of them all. He hates anything cheerful such as Christmas.

Believe it or not, I kinda liked him. Call me crazy, but there is something appealing about grumpy characters. I get them; they just want to be left alone.

Everything was cool according to Scrooge's standards of grumpiness until ghosts decided to pay him a visit to brainwash him and teach him a lesson.

People, Meet Mr. Ebenezer Scrooge after the makeover..

It's a lovely read. I liked it but I'm not crazy about it. It doesn't lack Dickens' humor which I love. Loved Dickens' imagination on ghosts which is just enough to give me the creeps in an occasion or two. Nothing over-the-top scary which makes it a family-read-material.

Moral of the story:
Be good, be kind, otherwise ghosts will haunt you down and make you realize how messed up you will end up the "hard" way.
