I’m hooked. This formula will always work on me. The human girl that the two princes can’t get enough of. Fighting over her. It’s explained more why they are so interested in her later and then you REALLY get into the story. It seems simple and cute and romantic at first and her love for her sister driving her mission makes you love the protagonist. But once you really start to see that every single character is a lot deeper that they appear and every single one has multiple motives, then it gets interesting. The ending was a total cliffhanger and I immediately got the next book in the series and will be reading it very soon. Excellent book. The similarities to so many others romantasy books is the only reason it’s not 5 stars for me. But I’d still recommend to anyone who even wonders about this genre. This book is excellent and meets my high standards around romance. There’s not enough smut for sure, but the little that there is, is 🔥

This book had me throwing theories out left and right. I was on the edge of my seat as Brie's journey with Sebastian and Finn unfolded. All of the twists and turns that you embark on as Brie tries to save her sister from the Unseelie King has my mind reeling. And the ending? It made me need to pick up the second book to this duology IMMEDIATELY.

This was a really fun book! I can see how it’s being compared to A Court of Thorns and Roses, but it wasn’t so similar that it felt boring. There were some parts that were predictable, but it was fun having theories and seeing how things played out.

“I am shadow and darkness and stronger than the girl he sacrificed for the crown.”

WOW THIS WAS A MF ROLLERCOASTER!!! i just randomly happened to pick this one up from the library and was not prepared for the contents of this book. there was so many unexpected twists and turns, so much betrayal, LIES!!! it was sooo crazy

i was going to give it 4 stars just bc she ended up with sebastian and not finn BUT THAT ONE LAST BETRAYAL AT THE FINAL CHAPTER BUMPED IT BACK UP TO FIVE STARS!!!!!!!!!!

i am constantly thinking about brie and finn 😏😏

ACOTAR meets The Cruel Prince, only better. The storytelling was honestly genius and the cliffhanger is stunning, I need the second book immediately.

There were a couple of times where I was confused by things that seemingly made no sense, or felt too rushed, but other than that this story is so well done. I was hooked immediately with the Cinderella style beginning. But then it just became something else entirely. I was honestly stunned at some of the twists that happened.
